The Business Edge Travel Rewards card is generally not as interesting as U.S. Bank's other Business Edge credit cards. Although it may be interesting for its signup bonus.

Collecting the Signup Bonus

Most people shouldn't bother getting this card, just for the signup bonus. The typical signup bonus is 25,000 FlexPoints, valued at $380 (at 1.5 cents per point).

After subtracting the opportunity cost of using the card for $2,000 of spending, the calculated net value for the initial year is $350 (18 cents per dollar spent).

That's not bad, but it can be hard to get approved for U.S. Bank credit cards, and there are better signup offers available. But, if you decide to get this card for bonus rewards, the signup bonus provides a nice side benefit.

Other Notable Benefits

  • $25 airline incidental credit (with every FlexPerks flight redemption). Every time you use your FlexPoints to book a round trip airline ticket, you get an additional $25 credit you can use for incidental expenses on that flight (like baggage fees or inflight food and beverage purchases). The credit is not automatic; you need to call in within 90 days of travel to apply the credit to any qualifying purchases.
  • Annual Fee rebate. If you spend $24,000 over the course of the year, they will rebate your $55 annual fee.

Bonus Categories

  • There are better options for your airfare, gas, and office supply purchases. The bonus category rewards from this card are more valuable than what you would earn from a good general-purpose reward card, but you can earn even more valuable rewards from other cards. Plus, you'll only earn the bonus points on one of these categories per month. Best Credit Cards for Travel Spending. Best Credit Cards for Gas Spending. Best Credit Cards for Retail Purchases.
  • There are better options for your cell phone purchases. The bonus category rewards from This card are more valuable than what you would earn from a good general-purpose reward card, but you can earn even more valuable rewards from other cards.
  • You don't want to use this card for your everyday spending. You'll earn higher rewards from a good general-purpose reward card. Get a Great General Purpose Reward Card and Use It for All of Your Spending.
  • The other Business Edge cards are better options. The Business Edge Rewards Choice has much higher rewards on a much broader set of categories. The Business Edge Select card lets you earn 3% rewards on both gas and office supplies, and doesn't have an annual fee.
