  Credit Card Reference


Before you start signing up for new credit cards:

  • Sign up for Credit Karma and possibly some other credit-monitoring tools. As you start signing up for new credit cards, you will want to keep an eye on your credit score. Chances are that you can already get your credit score, by signing into your account on the website of one of your existing credit card companies.
  • However, it is useful to have access to more detailed information and to information that is updated at least weekly. Credit Karma is free and is a good complement to the information available directly from your credit card companies.   • Make sure you understand the impact of the Chase 5/24 rule and other bank rules that help determine which cards you get first. You will need to focus on getting any affected credit cards first, before you start signing up for other cards. Which Signup Bonuses to Get First.
